Comment progresser à l'oral en Anglais ?
How can we improve our English speaking practice ?
EN-
1) Practise the one-minute speaking T challenge !
Choose a Topic + Talk non-stop in English for 1 or 2 minutes.
Option : Record (= enregistrer) your voice, fix (= repair) your errors, start again..
If you get stuck (= bloqué), say the word in your mother-tongue (= langue maternelle), keep going (continuer), check in the dictionary in the end, start again...
FR- S'entraîner à parler EN CONTINU pendant 1 minute, se corriger, recommencer, chercher le vocabulaire inconnu dans un dictionnaire ou sur son smartphone, refaire en se corrigeant...
Tous les jours, même heure, "simuler" qu'on parle à une autre personne à propos d'une activité, de sa journée ex petit-déjeûner, sortie, activités de la journée etc
Une option : s'enregistrer, s'écouter, corriger, reprendre...dire le mot inconnu dans sa langue maternelle, continuer puis vérifier ce mot à la fin, et recommencer tout en anglais...
2) English and hobbies

Le verbe au PRESENT SIMPLE (= habitude, généralité) :
Verbe + S : 3è personne du singulier du présent simple.
he doesn't answer the phone, she comes and visits me at home

PRETERIT ou SIMPLE PAST : obligatoire pour parler d'un événement passé, révolu, daté.
cf -verbes irréguliers : 2è colonne des listes, ex sing- sang/ speak- spoke/ become- became/ wake- woke...
- verbes réguliers : verbe + ED, ex played, walked, danced...

i'm used to + verb-ing = habitude dans le présent -> j'ai l'habitude de (faire ...)
i used to + infinitif = habitude dans le passé -> traduit par l'imparfait "avant je faisais du sport..."
ex "a grandfather says : when I was in my twenties, I used to run and cycle a lot" (quand j'avais la vingtaine, je courais et nageais beaucoup).

HAVE TO + VERBE : l'obligation vient de l'extérieur, est imposée par une institution, un organisme etc....
ex every day, I have to be at school at 7:55.
MUST + VERBE SANS TO : obligation imposée par moi, j'estime que je dois...
ex every day, my sister must get up at 6:30 am as she takes the bus for school at 7:00

L'EXPRESSION "It's the first (second/ third time time (year (etc)
+ HAVE +PART. PASSE DU VERBE (present perfect)
ex it's the first time (that) I have travelled to Austria.

"THE + adjectif " : désigne une catégorie entière de personnes :
The + l'adjectif
the dead, the handicapped, the deaf, the blind
= les morts, tous les morts, les handicapés (tous)...
ex the city hospital overflows with the dead and the living.

l'adjectif + nom
dead people, handicapped people, deaf people,
blind people
L'article "THE" est obligatoire :
- les inventions : the Internet, the telephone, the cinema, the radio mais : television
- les instruments de musique : Gareth plays the flute
- les choses uniques / les éléments, phénomènes atmosphériques, les planètes : the earth, the sea, the rain, the snow, the sun, the moon, the weather, the wind, the sky, the snow
- les institutions : the Army, the Press, the Police
- les titres (quand le nom est sous-entendu) : the King, the Queen, the President, the King of England, mais King Charles
L'article "THE" est supprimé :
-devant des noms qui représentent des choses en général, après les verbes qui expriment des opinions ou préférences :

ATTENTION ! article "THE" employé quand il ne s'agit pas d'une généralisation :
